WWE Smackdown Spoilers 6/18/15

Tonight’s WWE Smackdown will be from Buffalo, New York. Below are the spoilers for tonight’s show which will air on the SyFy network at 8et.

Sheamus starts off SmackDown cutting a promo about cashing in on his Money In the Bank contract, but he is interrupted by Dean Ambrose. Sheamus tells Ambrose to come take the briefcase from him if he wants it, out comes Kane who announces that Sheamus and himself will face Dean Ambrose in a handicap match.
Sheamus and Kane defeated Dean Ambrose by DQ
Roman Reigns cuts this match short by interfering and spearing Kane…Ambrose and Reigns vs. Sheamus and Kane is announced for later in the show.

Brie Bella defeated Paige

This is your standard Diva match, nothing special or exciting here. Alicia Fox helped Brie win the match by knocking Paige off the top rope without the ref noticing. Hopefully the WWE stops neglecting their women’s division and this is just a storyline that leads to something better. I would LOVE to see the Divas side with the Bellas and leave Paige all alone as this angle plays out. Then have Paige bring in the NXT women in a sort of “Invasion” style angle to help introduce them to the mainstream crowd and establish them on the main roster BUT my idea is just too creative for the Divas division so it’ll most likely never happen.
Kevin Owens cuts a promo and is interrupted by Cesaro, a match between them is made for later in the show.

Dolph Ziggler defeated Bo Dallas

Dallas drew some cheap heat with a promo and then told Lana that Ziggler was a “bad rebound” for her after Rusev and she should’ve “swiped left”. Ziggler has his usual spots and hits the Zig Zag for the pinfall.

Neville defeated Xavier Woods by pinfall

Neville was showcasing his high octane offense in this match until Big E and Kofi Kingston tried to interfere to help Woods. The Primetime Players were able to rush out and stop them, allowing Neville to hit the Red Arrow for the win.
Seth Rollins cuts an in ring promo to start his build with Brock Lesnar for Battleground. Rollins claims Lesnar is afraid of him and isn’t shying away from his arrogance of character. My guess is that Brock Lesnar will have to become a babyface for this feud.

NXT Champion Kevin Owens defeated Cesaro

If there is a reason to watch Smackdown tonight this is it. This match was pay-per-view quality. Not main event quality, but definitely a quality match. It was good to see the former Ring of Honor stars lock it up. Owens got the win with the pop up powerbomb as expected, but it was a solid match. I’m hoping Cesaro gets a better push in the future, but losing to Owens who is on a very high wave of momentum right now isn’t going to hurt him any more than creative has already
.
Sheamus and Kane defeated Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose

This was a normal back and forth main event tag match like Smackdown usually gives us, but they at least added a twist this week. Ambrose and Reigns gained the advantage towards the end of the match and then “the Eater of Worlds” Bray Wyatt appears on the Tron and distracts Reigns. This ends up costing them the match, but it leaves the fans happy because if anyone in the company is going to get Roman Reigns “over”, it is Bray Wyatt.

Sean Feral
Sean is pretty much “the bad guy”(metaphorically not negatively)…Sean was dubbed a “natural heel” by a handful of pro wrestlers about 8 years ago and Sean has embraced that role ever since. While covering the sports entertainment industry, Sean has met and interviewed many in the business and still loves the business now as much as he did as a kid. While most kids were cheering for the XMen, Sean rooted for guys like Apocalypse and Magneto. When everyone rooted for Hulk Hogan, Sean was rooting for the Iron Sheik. When you ask him “Why do you like the villain so much?” Sean always gives this answer, “The villain always tells a better story. Without their substance, there is little need for heroes.” Other than his love for villains, Sean is an overall sports dork and watches literally everything from WWE to Olympic curling to the NFL. Sean also loves humor, especially when it’s dark, well thought out, and witty.
